During the 1994 season, Bob was introduced the rough and tumble world of stock car racing. While making a pass for position at Lincoln Speedway, Bob was turned sideways exiting turn 4. His car was hit and began rolling down the front straight. Before it came to rest in turn one, the #47 had flipped three times in the air and twice on the ground. To make matters even worse, Bob was hit in midair by another car going by underneath. Bob exited the car, uninjured and returned a few weeks later.
